You Changed Me
Acrylic on canvas, 40 * 50 cm
Satin finish
This painting is not about becoming someone else for another person. It is about being changed through connection without losing yourself. To grow with someone, not into them.
Real connection does not begin with beauty. It begins with exposure.
The two bare branches reaching toward one another speak of what must exist before anything lasting can grow: the willingness to be seen without protection, without performance, and without the comfort of appearing whole. The red canopy above them is not the starting point, but the result of what becomes possible when two beings remain present long enough to truly know each other.
In the distance, a dark figure stands near the threshold, with a shadowed line extending toward the trees. It is a reminder that no connection begins untouched. Our past remains part of us. Former relationships, old pain, memory, and the reasons we changed do not simply disappear. They can return like ghosts — frightening when ignored, but useful when understood.
