Artist Guidelines & Listing Standards
Irish Artmart · Updated 13 October 2026
Welcome to Irish Artmart. Our marketplace is for artists who want to present their work professionally and give collectors confidence in what they are buying.
These guidelines explain how to prepare a listing, represent your artwork accurately, and meet our minimum pricing and authenticity standards. They work alongside our Terms & Conditions.
1. What can be listed?
We welcome genuine creative work in the categories supported by Irish Artmart, including original paintings, drawings, photography, sculpture, and accurately described prints or other artist-produced pieces.
Each listing must correctly identify what the customer receives. For example, a print must be described as a print, not as a one-of-a-kind original painting. Please state relevant edition and reproduction details accurately.
Artwork made with digital tools or AI assistance must be described truthfully. Do not present mass-produced or AI-generated work as an original handmade artwork when it is not. Listings are assessed for accuracy and suitability, not simply by medium or artistic style.
2. Price your artwork clearly
€100 minimum · €5,000 maximum
For new standard artwork listings, the regular selling price must be within this range.
€50 minimum · €5,000 maximum
If you offer a sale price, it must be within this range and be lower than the regular price.
These limits help maintain consistent listing standards and support fair pricing for artists. They are not a judgement of an artwork's artistic value.
Existing listings: Artwork already listed before the new price requirements can retain its unchanged lower price. New or revised prices must follow the applicable current limits. Special formats, such as auctions or commissions, may have separate rules.
3. Use clear, honest images
- Use photographs or images of the actual artwork being offered.
- Show the artwork clearly, with accurate colours and without misleading enhancements.
- Use the best-lit, sharpest image available; add useful detail views where appropriate.
- Keep every uploaded artwork image within the current 3 MB file-size limit.
- Do not upload images you do not own or have permission to use.
Buyers should be able to understand what they are purchasing without relying on an exaggerated or inaccurate presentation.
4. Complete the artwork details
Provide an informative artwork title and description. Complete the details requested in the vendor form, including the medium, size in centimetres, year, framed/unframed status, signature, certificate of authenticity and ready-to-hang information. If framed, describe the frame accurately.
Choose the most relevant category, dominant colours and primary theme. Clearly disclose any damage, unusual materials, reproduction status or other facts that could influence a buyer's decision.
5. Shipping and fulfilment
Keep your stock status and delivery destinations accurate. Shipping charges are set through your vendor shipping settings and, where available, artwork-specific overrides.
- Use protective packaging appropriate to the size, surface and materials of your artwork.
- Dispatch within the timeframe stated or agreed with the buyer.
- Provide tracking when available, and update the order when it has shipped.
- Make sure your shipping and returns information is accurate and compliant with applicable law.
6. Quality & authenticity acknowledgement
When submitting a new artwork for publication, artists must confirm that the listing meets Irish Artmart's Artwork Quality & Authenticity standards. This means the work is accurately represented, images and information are truthful, and authorship and production methods are not misrepresented.
You can save an unfinished artwork as a draft without completing this acknowledgement. It is required when submitting a new artwork for publication.
Irish Artmart may review a listing, ask for clarification or corrections, return a listing to draft, or remove a listing that does not meet these standards. We aim to make decisions fairly and consistently.
7. Before you publish
- Your title, medium, dimensions and condition are accurate.
- Your listing images represent the artwork being sold.
- Your regular and sale prices meet the relevant limits.
- You have set correct availability and shipping options.
- You have accurately identified originals, prints, editions and any AI or digital production methods.
- You have read and confirmed the quality standards when required.
