Part of a series of paintings inspired by Southern Italy this original oil painting depicts a pond of waterlilies highlighted by a shaft of light shining in from around a rustic stone wall. Rich warm greens create a perfect tonal contrast with the glowing pink tones of the flowers creating an atmospheric art piece. Colourful but calm this original painting is a great fit for any decor style from elegant to eclectic.

Gráinne Nielsen is an oil painter who lives on the North West coast of Ireland, working from an impressively messy home studio. They spend the winter watching figure skating, the summers thinking about watching figure skating, and almost all of the rest of their time painting figure skating. Sometimes they paint other things they think are pretty, just to keep it fresh.
