Jan O’Sullivan’s abstract painting unfolds with a vibrant spectrum of blues and greens, creating a compelling sense of fluid motion. Translucent, sweeping forms gracefully overlap, building dynamic layers that evoke the powerful currents of water or the subtle shifts of air. The upper canvas breathes with ethereal, lighter tones, contrasting with the lower right where deeper teals and intersecting lines introduce a structured depth. Visible brushwork throughout the piece enhances its energetic and organic presence.
Inspired by the legend of St. Brigid of Ireland’s cloak – she asked the king to grant her land for her monastery and he refused, she asked again asking for only as much land as her cloak would cover. Her cloak, when laid down miraculously grew and spread to many acres. She’d now had sufficient land on which to build her monastery.

A love of making things, a touch of design aptitude and a keen eye for balance and colour are what I bring to every canvas.
