A different take on rural life, Moove Over brings the viewer right into the cows’ space, offering a glimpse of their personalities as they look directly out of the frame. Painted in Rob’s Hidden Light style the bold outlines and saturated colours give the scene a modern edge, turning a familiar moment from the field into a confident, graphic statement.

Rob McCormack is a visual artist based in Trim, Co. Meath, working primarily in acrylic and oil. His signature Hidden Light technique involves building up layers of vibrant underpainting, masking forms with tape, and painting over them – so that when the tape is removed, colour bleeds through the edges of each shape in unexpected ways. The result is work that feels both graphic and alive, where light seems to come from within the painting rather than fall upon it. Rob is drawn to this process for the unapologetic brightness it produces – work that is deliberately cheerful, designed to lift a room and the mood of anyone in it.
His work spans Irish landscapes, seascapes and figurative portraiture, created both through the Hidden Light process and in traditional oil and acrylic. Developed in early 2025, Hidden Light made its public debut at People’s Art on St. Stephen’s Green – where the first piece sold on the opening day. It has since been shown at Art Source 2025, Ireland’s national art fair, and Hidden Light paintings are now held in private collections from Ireland to Norway.
He is a professional member of Visual Artists Ireland, his work was selected for Surveyor 2025 at Solstice Arts Centre, Navan, and his paintings have been chosen for long-term display in public institutions.
Rob welcomes commission enquiries from both private collectors and organisations and has fulfilled commissions for clients from across Ireland and beyond. If something catches your eye or you’d like to discuss a commission, he is happy to hear from you.
