How do you define your artistic style, how has it evolved ?

I would define my artistic style as fluid but also refined. It has evolved from sketches to full blown paintings. I am also dabbling with woodwork which I am hoping to incorporate in my pieces in the future.

Can you walk us through your creative process?

I am a very visual person and find walking in nature, watching adventures on television and scrolling through social media helps me come up with ideas..

What steps do you take from the initial concept to the final product?:

I generally will sketch out an idea and transcribe it onto canvas and paint and manipulate until I am happy with the piece.

Are there specific environments, moods, or moments that spark your creativity most?

Yes nature, swimming, immersing myself in the elements but also enjoying the comforts of my home. Working alongside my wife, our dogs and hens. Gardening. Even when I am upset it soothes me to create.

Many artists have a particular theme or subject matter that they explore in their work. Is there a recurring theme in your art?:

Animals, colour, people and places.

What artists, past or present, have inspired or influenced your work?:

Picasso & Van Gough

In the evolving world of art, how do you stay current with new techniques or mediums, and have you recently experimented with any?:

I like to keep things simple and will be experimenting with new techniques soon.

With so many diverse art forms and expressions, how do you decide which medium or method best conveys your vision for a particular piece?

I like how easy acrylic is to work with and how fast it dries. It interests me on how the layers can bring out a different texture to a piece.

How do you hope viewers will interpret or respond to your work?:

I hope they get a sense of joy out of my work, and life from the colour.

Do you have any upcoming exhibitions, projects, or collaborations that you can tell us about?:

Not currently but would love to showcase in the near future.
