Framed original pen and watercolour pieces, with crochet and embroidery stitched directly into the paper. Feel free to contact me for commissions.

Description

This piece is inspired by my childhood walks in Jamestown, Co. Leitrim. There is a wall that runs alongside the river Shannon, just at the Weir, where a beautiful little wildflower grows. Ivy leaf toadflax is the plant, with tiny purple flowers and sprawling pink tendrils. Its beauty and ability to thrive in the smallest crack in the stone always fascinated me, and inspires me to try to bloom wherever one is planted in life.
This piece is drawn in ink, with watercolor in subtle colours. The wall section is separate from the background, giving the piece depth and highlighting the crocheted flowers that have grown out of their foothold in the wall.

Living in Leitrim provides me with so much inspiration for my artwork, being surrounded by nature, and modern and historical landmarks provides a beautiful place to create from. I am a lifelong crocheter, and love incorporating stitched elements into me pen and watercolour sketches.
