Description

“3” explores the tension between order and movement through a layered arrangement of circles, arcs, intersecting lines and blocks of vivid colour. Strong black forms anchor the composition, while red, blue, yellow and turquoise elements move through the structure, creating shifts in rhythm, direction and visual weight.

The work feels both constructed and spontaneous. Curved forms overlap rigid verticals and horizontals, while smaller marks and interruptions prevent the composition from settling into a fixed pattern. Balance emerges through contrast rather than symmetry, allowing the eye to continually move between areas of density and open space.

The deliberately simple title, “3”, leaves the work open to interpretation, allowing the relationships between shape, colour and space to become the central language of the painting.
