Part of a series of paintings inspired by Southern Italy this print depicts a flat yellow field stretching out to a horizon dotted with trees and red rooved farm buildings. The clear sky above is a glowing blue and in the foreground patches of wildflowers pop out from the tall green grass.

Gráinne Nielsen is an oil painter who lives on the North West coast of Ireland, working from an impressively messy home studio. They spend the winter watching figure skating, the summers thinking about watching figure skating, and almost all of the rest of their time painting figure skating. Sometimes they paint other things they think are pretty, just to keep it fresh.
