“Art speaks in a language of its own, revealing worlds where borders are unknown.”

This quote lies at the heart of the exhibition, which explores connection, displacement, nature, and the universal language of creative expression.

About the Artists

Liubov Karpova

Born in Ukraine and now living in Kinvara, Liubov Karpova is both an architect and an artist. A graduate of the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture (NAOMA) in Kyiv, her work harmonises structured architectural elements with the fluidity of emotional expression.

Having left her homeland due to war, Liubov found solace and inspiration in Ireland’s tranquil landscapes. She returned to her original artistic passion—watercolour painting—using it as a means of healing and reflection. Her paintings capture stillness and light, often delving into themes of memory, transformation, and the search for belonging.

Pauline Dunleavy

Pauline Dunleavy draws her inspiration from the wild beauty of the western Irish coast, shaped by the River Shannon and the Atlantic Ocean. A former RNLI lifeboat crew member and station manager, Pauline’s art is infused with a deep connection to the sea and a keen sensitivity to the changing seasons.

Her diverse portfolio spans oils, acrylics, watercolours, and encaustic. With experience studying and exhibiting across Ireland, France, Italy, and the US, Pauline’s work reflects both technical exploration and emotional honesty. She is an active member of the Kilrush Art Group and a passionate advocate for sharing artistic knowledge.

Breaking Borders – A Shared Narrative

Though their styles and origins differ, both artists share a common thread—art as a way to transcend boundaries, process experience, and celebrate nature’s quiet power. Their work speaks to resilience, transformation, and the universal threads that connect us all.

This exhibition promises an immersive and emotionally resonant experience—don’t miss the opportunity to step into a world where borders dissolve and creativity flows freely.
