Description
Title: Samantha Smith — Original Collage Artwork
Original handmade collage on paper.
Created by Andrii Tuz.
Mosaic appliqué technique —
paper, magazine cutouts, glue.
Inspired by Samantha Reed Smith —
an American schoolgirl who became
a symbol of peace during the Cold War.
In 1982, at age ten, she wrote a letter
to the leader of the Soviet Union
asking why the world was moving
toward nuclear war.
Her sincere question received a response.
She became an international symbol
of hope, dialogue, and humanity
beyond political systems.
Her life was tragically cut short at thirteen.
But her message remains —
a reminder of how a single human voice
can challenge fear and division.
