Description
Like layers of old wallpaper, our memories are altered by our perception. As you peel each layer away, little marks and scraps are left behind, creating a memory that is unique to us.
Please note that every effort has been made to represent the colours accurately, but they may be some difference in the image on your screen an the piece it self, especially with metallics. Ships unframed.
My work explores the connection between structure and spontaneity through the use colour and texture. I use geometric forms, organic shapes, and contrasting palettes to create abstractions that invite reflection. Circles, divisions, fragmented grids and lines recur in my work, suggestive of cycles, boundaries, transitions and moments of in time. My process is experimental, intuitive and responsive, drawing on a sensory experience that is frequently out of step with the world. Through layering, scraping, printing, and overpainting, I often allow traces of earlier missteps to remain visible, revealing a history embedded within each piece. The use of colour informs my work, with strong contrasting shades evoking energy and dissonance, and cooler tones reflecting calmness, balance and contemplation.
