In this painting, I aimed to capture the experience of navigating the space between two unfamiliar worlds, driven by curiosity and wonder. It reflects the sense of uncertainty and discovery that comes with stepping into the unknown, where everything feels foreign yet intriguing, inviting exploration despite the uncertainty of the path ahead.
Alina Slav is a Dublin-based artist working in painting, printmaking, and Joomchi, a traditional Korean paper-making technique. Her practice is an ongoing exploration of colour, texture, and emotion, weaving personal experiences into visual narratives. Through acrylic painting, she captures mood and transformation, while her printmaking adds depth to her artistic language. In Joomchi, she creates layered, tactile pieces that embody storytelling and material exploration. Continuously pushing creative boundaries, Alina’s work reflects a deep commitment to discovery and artistic expression.
