Description
I have always loved Autumn. Every year I eagerly anticipate when the air turns crisp and you can feel the warm colours of red and orange growing stronger with each walk. I especially love to walk in the Phoenix Park during this time of the year. The landscape is changing so quickly that you can’t seem to do the same walk twice. Every day the colours are different and the wind takes the leaves in different directions, revealing new paths and patterns in the vibrant underfoot. I painted this painting two years ago, when I would spend a lot of time in the park. The unfortunate trap f Autumn is that is it over as quickly as it arrives, and if you don’t pause to take it in, you could miss the show entirely. I painted this in a desperate attempt to preserve that feeling that Autumn brings each year, before it passes again. I adore this piece and have loved living with it for the last two years but as autumn reminds us, it’s time for change and I would like for my autumn piece to bring the feelings of warmth and comfort that it has given me to another home.
