A watercolour head study of a woman. My work is an exploration of the human condition. I found this image an empowering image of a woman in a focused mind. She has been hanging in my studio for a year and her look always put me in a determined mood. This painting was part of a group exhibition in ‘Be-framed’ Art gallery and framers in Cork city during spring 2023.
Hi, my name is Jean and I am a portrait artist living and working in Cork, Ireland. Drawing and painting since childhood my primary interest is in the art of portraiture in both watercolour and oil paints. The image or idea for the painting will dictate which medium I use.
My work is an exploration of what it is to be human. My paintings are both a response to and observation of my own daily life and the natural world around me. My painting style focuses on my interest in colour, energy and self-expression.
