Description
This work is inspired by the wild and untamed beauty of the Irish sea, where sea, sky, and land are in constant dialogue. The circular composition draws the viewer inward, creating a sense of immersion that feels at once expansive—like the sweep of an approaching storm—and intimate, like a fleeting stillness in the grasses at the waters edge. Layers of acrylic ink are built up in translucent veils, allowing light and depth to emerge gradually. This process mirrors both the shifting moods of the coastline and the reactive, unpredictable nature of the medium itself, echoing the way weather, tide, and atmosphere continually transform the seascape. In the same way, it evokes the storms that move through our own lives—periods of darkness that, in time, give way to light.
