I'm a Contemporary/Abstract artist.  I work mainly with oil paints, often using Cold wax within my paintings, I also use mixed media from time to time.

Description

Part of a series of work which was created for a recent Solo show in the Watergate Theatre Gallery Kilkenny. Inspired by my fascination with standing stones, and stone circles. The myths that surround them, what they symbolise, and what they can tell us about our ancestors. They appear other worldly, somewhat mysterious and yet we coexist with these ancient monuments, as have generations before, they are part of our DNA.

Inspired by the landscape, exploring the changing light on the subject, which instantly evolves into something remarkably altered by light and shadow, using colour, line and form as a conduit to abstract, express and encapsulate these contradictions, which excite and inspire me, resulting in pieces of artwork combining reality and imagination.
