Endurance

This work was created in response to the prompt ‘Endurance’ as part of an initiative aiming to put a spotlight on this topic due to current events. I created this seascape in an effort to capture what the essence of ‘endurance’ embodies in my view. Like the sea with its capability to go through a consistent cycle over and over again with immense resilience and persistence, withstanding difficulties and continuing it’s journey in spite of any obstacles. The warmth of the evening sky gently promises the prospect of a rest and recovery without really stopping greater forces in their cycle but to rather motivate and to help keeping on. This piece was created using acrylic paint and ink and is finished with several coats of resin adding a high gloss mirror-like finish and depth to the colours.
