How do you define your artistic style, how has it evolved ?
I am a follower of realistic direction in fine art. I chose this style from the very beginning of my path and I'm constantly improving in this direction.
Can you walk us through your creative process?
My creative process involves research, gathering ideas, creating a mood board, developing a composition and working on the final version of the painting. What steps do you take from the initial concept to the final product?:
I try to develop and refine the initial concept by doing sketches. I establish the composition, lighting and color harmony in advance and then I turn the idea into a finished painting. Are there specific environments, moods, or moments that spark your creativity most?
I feel most creative when I can discuss my concepts with others, even just talking ideas out loud helps me figure out what I want from my next painting.
Many artists have a particular theme or subject matter that they explore in their work. Is there a recurring theme in your art?:
While I don't have a particular theme that I specialize in, I do tend to depict scenes that are particularly nostalgic and vivid in the atmosphere they convey. What artists, past or present, have inspired or influenced your work?:
I draw inspiration from the works of Richard Schmid, John S. Sargent, Andrew Tyshler, Stanislav Brusilov, Vladimir Volegov and from the works of many other artists working in the realistic style. In the evolving world of art, how do you stay current with new techniques or mediums, and have you recently experimented with any?:
Being self-taught, I find information from contemporary artists on Instagram or YouTube and I learn new techniques following their tutorials..Can you describe a moment in your career that you felt was a significant breakthrough or turning point for you?
There have been several turning points. The first significant change was when I first tried oil painting, then when I switched from portraits to landscape painting, and finally when I started creating my own compositions.
