In my art, I explore various themes that intersect and overlap. These include environmental advocacy, human equality, identity, transformation, storytelling, exploration and emancipation. They reflect aspects of my personal journey, my interests in social and environmental issues and the potential of art to connect with others. I draw inspiration from a diverse range of artists, including Pablo Picasso, Henri Matisse, Tim Okamura, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Andre Derain, Georgy Kurasov, Juan Gris, Joan Miro, Paul Signac, Georges-Pierre Seurat, and Vincent van Gogh. Additionally, I am also influenced by contemporary artists such as Wendy Buiter, Bruce Onobrakpeya, Abiodun Olaku, Peju Alatise, Bimbo Adenugba, and Oliver Enwonwu, who showcase the richness and diversity of global artistry.In the evolving world of art, how do you stay current with new techniques or mediums, and have you recently experimented with any?:
As an artist, I strive to stay adaptable and open to new ideas in a constantly evolving art world. To keep my work fresh and relevant, I engage in ongoing learning, experimentation and engagement. I participate in workshops, online courses, and art conferences to expand my skills and knowledge. These experiences introduce me to new techniques, perspectives and methodologies, helping me refine my craft. I also enjoy exploring new mediums and techniques, such as mixed media collage, digital painting and sustainable art practices. Engaging with the art community is important to me. I participate in art festivals, exhibitions and social media platforms to stay informed about emerging trends and techniques. I recognize the role of technology in modern art and use digital tools to explore new forms of expression. Recently, I have been experimenting with mixed media collage and digital painting. These explorations have allowed me to create intricate and layered pieces.Can you describe a moment in your career that you felt was a significant breakthrough or turning point for you?
A pivotal moment in my career came when my artwork, "Beauty," was selected by Amber Rose as a finalist piece to be showcased at her event in Los Angeles. This opportunity which took place in October 2017 was a significant breakthrough for me as it allowed my work to reach a wider audience and be associated with a prominent event advocating for social change.
