Description
I moved to Ireland with my husband and daughter in 2023. The Temple Bar is the first pub I painted. This pub is one of the most iconic of Dublin city with its bright red walls. On this painting, the Dublin sun casts a warm glow on the cobblestone streets of Temple Bar. The usual hustle and bustle is pleasantly subdued on this sunny afternoon.
Strains of live music drift from a nearby pub with open doors, enticing passersby with a taste of the lively evenings to come. You hear fiddles, bodhráns, uilleann pipes, and lively singing that gets your feet tapping. Laughter spills out from a sidewalk cafe where a group of friends linger over creamy pints of Guinness. Across the street, you can hear the lilting performance of a street artist on his fiddle. With a smile on your face, you take in all this quintessential Irish atmosphere.
The air itself seems lighter, infused with the promise of a carefree afternoon, a perfect prelude to the vibrant tapestry of life that unfolds when the sun dips below the horizon and Temple Bar truly comes alive. This cityscape is a A5 size : 21 x 14,8cm – 8,3 x 5,8 in.
