Description

” Checkmate” portrays a tense moment at the chessboard as two players lean in, their expressions of concentration and resolve revealing the mental choreography beneath each move. Warm, contrasting colors and dynamic brushwork bring texture to faces, hands, and the carved pieces, while a close composition emphasizes the quiet intensity of the match. I was born in Balbriggan, North Co. Dublin in 1948, and  still lives there in my home by the sea. From childhood, I had the gift of a natural ability to draw and paint. I am a self taught artist
When working as a freelance cartoonist, my work appeared in most of the National and local newspapers and magazines. On taking early retirement,  I rekindled my love of painting.  I soon established myself  as  a full-time artist whose work was in great demand. I work mainly in oils and acrylics, painting a diverse range of subjects from contempory to impressionistic styles. I exhibits twice annually.
My work is found in private collections in Ireland, Australia, France, U.S.A,  England, and Wales.
I feel priviliged, and grateful  that so many people have purchased my works to hang in their homes or offices.

Shipping Policy
