This original oil painting by Elena Fleming was inspired by one of the artist’s walks along the canal in Co. Kildare, Ireland. It was a lovely sunny hazy frosty day. The surface of the canal was frozen and covered with the frost, so bright and white . The artist loved the contrast of the white frost on the canal with the dark frost along the sides and the copper gold of the grass along the banks and the sunny haze everywhere.
Elena Fleming, largely self-taught, also developed her skills through Art, Craft, and Design courses in Kilkenny and Abbeyleix between 2018 and 2020, as well as attending various masterclasses and courses with established artists, including a drawing course at RHA.
Elena’s work is inspired by the beauty of nature, the energy of historical sites, family, music, and treasured memories. Her paintings often reflect the emotional resonance she finds in the world around her—whether it’s a particular light on the landscape or the story a place could tell. Elena’s current body of work is being developed around the beauty and untold stories of the quiet places around Ireland with deep historical connections.
Elena believes that art has the power to heal and connect us, offering a deeper understanding of ourselves and the world we live in. Her paintings have been exhibited in group shows in Ireland and abroad, with some now residing in homes both locally and internationally.

Shipping
Products will be shipped within 2-3 working days after the order placed. It might take longer for giclee prints if they are on backorder, in this case we will let you know asap. All orders will be sent by trackable postal service. Delivery times are estimates and may vary especially for locations outside Ireland. We are not responsible for delays caused by postal services.
