This painting is inspired by our inner journey and the sense of coldness, unfamiliarity and loneliness. The silhouette represents the soul, while the ‘portal’ symbolizes a place we are meant to reach but do not know how. Everything around feels unfamiliar, making the path unclear and adding to the feeling of being lost.
Alina Slav is a Dublin-based artist working in painting, printmaking, and Joomchi, a traditional Korean paper-making technique. Her practice is an ongoing exploration of colour, texture, and emotion, weaving personal experiences into visual narratives. Through acrylic painting, she captures mood and transformation, while her printmaking adds depth to her artistic language. In Joomchi, she creates layered, tactile pieces that embody storytelling and material exploration. Continuously pushing creative boundaries, Alina’s work reflects a deep commitment to discovery and artistic expression.
