Description
The Horizon of Roots is a large abstract mixed-media artwork created using a combination of natural and artistic materials. Built layer by layer on a wooden artist board, the piece incorporates organic elements such as moss, bark, shells, and other found textures, alongside fabric, acrylic paint, and protective varnish. The work is presented in a professionally crafted custom frame that complements and enhances the colors within the composition.
The creative process focused on grouping similar textures together to create a sense of rhythm and cohesion. Clusters of organic materials form flowing structures across the surface, echoing the natural movement and growth found in landscapes and forest floors. Deliberate negative space was left within the composition, allowing the surrounding elements to breathe and creating contrast between density and openness.
Inspired by movement in nature, the piece explores the balance between structure and flow. The color palette was carefully chosen to maintain harmony, combining soft shades of beige and lilac with occasional accents of deeper purple to bring depth and energy to the composition.
Through the layering of textures and natural materials, The Horizon of Roots invites the viewer to experience a meeting point between earth and horizon — a space where organic forms, color, and movement come together in quiet balance.
