The Blue Heron.

In February 2022, my artistic journey commenced within the confines of a cattle shed in Co. Westmeath, where I continue to work diligently in 2024. My initial foray into this creative realm involved forging roses and calla lilies, serving as a foundational exploration into the intricacies of working with metal. Swiftly enamored by the craft, I discovered a profound appreciation for the artistic process and the liberating avenue of expression it afforded.

Fueled by a deep-seated passion for nature and wildlife, my artistic evolution reached a pivotal moment when I fashioned my inaugural barn owl sculpture, inspired by the presence of a local barn owl visitor. This marked the inception of a series, as I went on to craft an additional three owls, each set against diverse scenes. Delving into the realms of forging techniques, metal fabrication, and welding, I concurrently experimented with various sources of inspiration for my sculptures, catering to both personal exploration and the dynamic demands of customer commissions. This diverse exploration not only honed my skills but also enriched my capacity to produce captivating and one-of-a-kind pieces.
