Description
In autumn days and not only, will decorate your interior spring landscape with poppies.
I wrote it from a picture I took stopping at a roadside past a clearing by the hills when I was visiting my sister. I was driving with my husband and he had stopped to check a fault in the car. I wanted to impress this landscape, the grass swaying in the breeze, and with it two lonely poppies against the dry grass in the clearing.
I come from Crimea, it is a small peninsula, which at all times was and is a tidbit of land, rich in picturesque mountains, sea and forests. Therefore, living there I was and still am inspired by these beauties and national colours that I display in my paintings.
And even now, living in Ireland, I try not to forget the culture and traditions of my people and write paintings in the ethno style.
I am also very impressed by the realism that I portray in my still lifes and landscapes.
