New Beginnings

This Seascape was the first larger work of 2021 and inspired by a smaller piece as part of a daily painting exercise throughout the month of January. The exercise focused on working daily for 10-15 minutes in small formats with limited materials and discovering new techniques by a more ‘careless’ approach to one’s work. It also aimed at implementing a healthy daily routine around my practice and help triggering new ideas for larger works. ‘New Beginnings’ was born out of one of those small works and captures a longing for hope, to hold out a little longer with brighter days on the horizon.
