This Piece represents mental health during covid- acrylic on canvas
Heart Rate Monitor – Is a piece i have created quite rapidly using up all of the acrylic paint tubes i had. I was debating whether it represented a thermometer rising or a mountain contour graph but eventually I came to the conclusion that it suited. Measuring electrical heart information is referred to as electrocardiograph (ECG or EKG). I mixed the acrylic paint I brushed on with long horizontal strokes onto canvas and tilted the piece vertically after about 10 minutes in sets of rotations. The mix of the acrylic paint with turpentine created the most striking illusion that I didn’t know I was capable of creating. It dripped and drained a serious amount like an avalanche of colour.
I was inspired to experiment with this dripping technique and let the paint revel in its true liquid self. I follow a controlled distribution of colour . I have expressed my inner impulsion, I am unpredictable in my technique. I look up to the likes of Jackson Pollock, Henri Matisse, Jean-Michel Basquiat along with Marc Chagall.
