This artwork, Fairground Series No. 1 is first painting in the the 2022 Fairground series of abstract paintings by Jan O’Sullivan.

This Fairground Series explores the curious, otherness celebrated by the fairground atmosphere. A sometimes bright, geometric and loud place, but also murky and hazy with mystery behind the scenes.

This artwork features the hazy, mysterious under-feeling of the fairground, using an opaque wash over some of the colourful aspects, while keeping some of the view in sight, but slightly obscured and out of skew. Framed in a 3cm deep pinewood floater frame, this artwork is ready to hang. It has no particular orientation – place it to suit your spaces or spaces. Frame is optional – I only frame the painting upon sale.

Versatile artwork, that will look well in both contemporary and eclectic settings.
